Play ball! Baseball league holds opening ceremonies
Play ball! Well, almost.
The Bakersfield Southwest Baseball League stepped-up to the plate with opening ceremonies this past Saturday morning off Stockdale Highway. Fortunately, the rain held off, despite the clouds.
As each team was announced, players from 5 to 18 ran out on the field with their manager and coaches. Also in attendance, league president Darren Billesbach and Bakersfield Mayor Harvey Hall. Eyewitness News anchor Kurt Rivera emceed the event.
The day included several fundraisers, games, bounce houses and food.
No games were played. The first games will be played this Saturday, March 13th.
